#4 CALL TO ACTION
We understand that stopping the RFP process and asking the city to continue using WAGS as it’s Animal Care Services vendor will come with it’s fair share of financial challenges. The city will most likely not be willing to increase the amount of funds it will provide to WAGS. This was the issue last year when we had to raise the additional money ($120,000) ourselves that was needed to stay open another year during our contract extension. We may need to raise funds again if they decide to pull the RFP process and continue with WAGS until they have their city officials turmoil resolved. The lack of funding issue won’t go away for the upcoming year, but we will continue to save the animals & figure out the next steps with fundraising & grants to be able to provide the quality of care we are known for as well as to hold to the standard that Gov. Gavin Newsom is trying to instill…a “no-kill California” for all shelters. #wagspetadoption #helpushelpthem #shelterlife #community #cityofwestminster #westminstercityhall #government #governornewsom
