Update: When reviewing the past few days events, the holding off the RFP means there are no funds attached to the time period of holding off. WAGS can handle a few months of a pause but a whole year would be a hardship. No different than last year’s predicament.
WAGS would need people to attend the meeting to just have the topic of RFP and Animal Care Services on the agenda. A short pause is a doable request and WAGS can handle no extra funds for 2 -3 months. Don’t let the topic not be publicly commented on.
With that said the management of WAGS RFP request amount for the 3-5 year contract is sensitive to the city’s financial concerns. We are hoping to get funds from the Governor Newsom’s initiative for California “No Kill Animal Shelters”.
