Next City Council meeting is this upcoming Wednesday Feb 12th
The next City Council meeting is this upcoming Wednesday Feb 12th. We NEED a MUCH bigger showing of WAGS supporters this time to even have a chance of getting City Managements attention on the matter of selecting WAGS for the Animal Care Services contract. At this time, pausing the RFP process isn’t going to change our future…the RFP had to be and was turned in on Feb 4th to the City. The only focus for next Wednesday night is to try to make City Council understand that WAGS is worth keeping, even if it isn’t the cheapest option. We know that we have had to adjust our message a couple of times to reflect our needs during this period of turnover in the Westminster City Management, but we have maintained the critical message of WAGS wanting to stay as the shelter. WE ARE NOT DONE SAVING ANIMALS!
We are looking for this picture to change on Wednesday night. We want it to be standing room only and FULL of orange shirt wearing WAGS supporters! We are also in need of at least 10 people to speak on our behalf. The WAGS Administration Team spoke up at the last meeting, but it would mean so much more if the fight was coming from the citizens! You do not have to be Westminster or Stanton residents to SHOW UP AND SPEAK UP! City Council needs to hear from the community why they want to KEEP WAGS!!!
Council Chambers are located at 8200 Westminster Blvd. The meeting starts at 7pm, but we will be there at 630pm to meet up and greet everyone. If you are willing and able to speak up on WAGS behalf, (the time limit is 5 minutes) please email us at cortney@wagspetadoption.org to let us know. We need a MINIMUM of 10 speakers to commit to speaking to make an impact!!
