why does this matter so much to WAGS employees?

So tonight someone asked at the open house “Keep the Contract 2020” – why does this matter so much to WAGS employees? My first thought was, I guess everyone can get a different job but my second thought and answer was regarding the massive change WAGS has made.
WAGS is a no kill shelter. We are transparent, highly dedicated and totally animal focused. The example- we have animals that are with us for over 200 days – and we love them and cry when they get adopted. Would other shelter keep an animal 200’plus days? No. Would they be creating a home for sometimes 800 animals on property never euthanizing for space? NO. Would they save 1500 kittens in one season? NO. Would they help an animal recover from an amputation? Probably not.
Keep the Contract 2020 is critical for the employees and citizens because only WAGS is doing all these amazing things to save animals. That is why Keep the Contract is so important!
